On another note, I wrote an earlier post here in my blog stating that with the ham population declining and the average age continuing to increase,  ARRL should look at extending the width of the contest circle from its current 175 mile requirement to 250 miles. This would allow contest clubs to attract more members, and hopefully increase participation without giving clubs too much latitude to "rig" the contests.
